The Franklin Citizen Corps were founded in 2003 and serve all 26 communities in Franklin County, Massachusetts. The group consists of more than 60 volunteers in medical and support roles. Our unit volunteers participate in required core trainings (Medical Triage, Disaster Awareness Preparedness, CPR/First Aid and the Incident Command System (ICS) training), drills and exercises as well as on-going courses of interest defined by the group.
The MRC works with local boards of health to dispense information about emergency preparedness and recovery.
Franklin County has three distinct groups of volunteers who are trained and ready to support existing resources in a disaster situation:
- Franklin County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC)
- Franklin County Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
- Franklin County Disaster Animal Response Team (FCDART).
To make a difference in your community, consider joining one of these teams. Click here to contact the Franklin County Citizens Corps Coordinator of all three teams.
