The Chicopee Medical Reserve Corps, as sponsored by the Chicopee Health Department, is a volunteer organization tasked with providing emergency preparedness and response to our city, as well as aid to local MRCs. As a large community in the Western Massachusetts region (population 56,000), the City of Chicopee relies on a strong contingent of volunteers to meet its emergency preparedness and public health needs. The Chicopee Medical Reserve Corps is a group of diverse volunteers with backgrounds ranging from EMTs to teachers to retirees. Among other opportunities, volunteers are able to partake in local exercises and drills, further their knowledge of emergency response, and assist at routine public health events.
