South Berkshire MRC Meeting w/NARCAN Training

The Berkshire Medical Reserve Corp in partnership with Berkshire Opioid Abuse Prevention Collaborative (BOAPC) is offering a series of cost-free NARCAN trainings in conjunction with upcoming regional MRC Volunteer meetings. NARCAN can reverse the effects of an overdose. The training is geared towards individuals with little to no medical training, although some familiarity with First Aid/CPR will be helpful.
Participants will learn:
*Different types of opioids *Risk factors *Signs/symptoms of an overdose
*How to administer NARCAN *Rescue breathing protocol
After completion participants will be equipped with the skills needed to save lives by responding to an overdose.
OPEN to the PUBLIC. Following the training, community members can learn about the mission of the Medical Reserve Corps and how to become a volunteer.
